  We are a friendly club and encourage players of all abilities to join us as we have something to offer everyone.

About us 

Lorton Tennis Club is Clubmark accredited and is located in Cumbria between Cockermouth and Keswick in the beautiful Lorton Valley.

There are opportunities for all abilities to participate in social tennis sessions, adult and junior coaching and club tournaments. We also offer competitive play in the West Cumbria League where we enter a number of mens, ladies and mixed teams in the summer months.

Lorton have been very successful in the West Cumbria League. We are always interested in new team players so please visit our contact us page to speak to our captains for more information on team tennis or our membership page on becoming a member.

We encourage junior members. We have an LTA Coach Chris Whittle who runs regular group and individual lessons for juniors throughout the year and we organise a number of events that include competitions and family days. Please refer to our junior sections for more information.

Facilities

We have three well maintained courts for both members and visitors use. Court 1 is very popular and is an artificial grass court which can also be floodlit for play in winter evenings. Courts 2 & 3 are hard courts.

Our clubhouse, built with lottery funding, is shared with Lorton Primary School. We have changing rooms with showers alongside a function room.

We also have a ball machine for members to use.
