Jenny Knox a talented artist and tennis club member has very kindly donated one of her paintings as part of our current fund-raising push. We have decided to hold an auction for it at the club quiz on Saturday January 27.
It is a limited edition print from a watercolour and is entitled Glencoyne, Ullswater. You can view the picture on Jenny’s website It is the 2nd picture in the landscape section.
The Print size is 40 x 28 cm, mounted in white and unframed.
Jenny normally sells her prints for £55. but who knows how much this might raise for our court resurfacing fund.
The picture will also be on view at the hall on Saturday.

Members can bid for this painting even if you they are unable to attend on Saturday night.
Bids should be put in writing via Penny Lees or given to a club committee member.
We are not sure if live phone bidding would be a viable option, unless a friend at the quiz would be the go between!!
We can take bids on the night of course but any offers from others should be in good time to be collated, by the latest at 2pm Saturday

Contact Penny :- or 07876194484 or 01900824974 stating name and contact details, plus maximum bid.
SUNDAY LATE AFTERNOON – social tennis is now starting at 4pm, and once the clocks go back to GMT we’ll start sooner if the numbers playing are still strong. Contact Chris Macleod at or just come along.

There has been some queries about the court padlocks. There is a number which all members should have been informed of. You need to press the button on the base to release the padlock. When you are closing the lock please make sure that you re-scramble the numbers otherwise they can be released just by pushing the button.

The key for the changing rooms is now in a key safe by the door. The combination setting is the same as for the courts. Again please replace and scramble the numbers after use.

Lorton Tennis Club is now associated with Clubspark (part of the LTA system) and already you will have received emails from them concerning subscriptions, padlocks, on-line bookings and other administrative matters.
However if you are not receiving information from Clubspark you need to:-
1. Check that you have paid your annual subscription. If you haven’t, go to the Club website ( and from here you should be able to join by accessing the link on the membership page.
2. Check your junk mail.
If all else fails get in touch with Gillian White/Peter Hemingway ( asap.

The court padlocks have now been changed from the old key system to combination locks.
By now you will have received a message from Clubspark telling you the number that opens the locks but for obvious reasons you are asked not to share this number with non members. The padlock on the store has not yet been changed. When leaving the courts, ensure the courts are locked and that you have mixed up the numbers on the combination locks.

You will also have received information from Clubspark about booking courts on-line. The system is now up and running and easy to use. To book a court go to:- LTC/booking.

or you can book through our website ( and then follow the links to Visitors and Court booking.
